Welcome to Luxury Cowhides. By accessing or purchasing products from our website, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our website or placing an order.

1. General Information

Luxury Cowhides offers genuine cowhide rugs, cowhide patchwork rugs, and cowhide accessories made from natural hair-on-hide leather.

By using this website, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your state or country of residence or that you have given consent for any minor dependents to use this site.

We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms of Service at any time without prior notice.

2. Natural Product Disclaimer

All products sold by Luxury Cowhides are made from 100% natural cowhide.

Because cowhide is a natural material, every product is unique. Variations in:

  • Color

  • Pattern

  • Size

  • Hair direction

  • Texture

  • Natural markings

  • Brand marks or healed scars

are normal characteristics of genuine cowhide and are not considered defects.

Product images represent the item as accurately as possible, but natural variation should be expected.

3. Product Use and Expectations

Cowhide rugs are durable decorative pieces intended for home décor and moderate use.

However, customers should understand the natural behavior of hair-on-hide leather.

Hair Loss and Traffic Wear

Like all natural hair-on-hide products, cowhide rugs may experience gradual hair loss over time, particularly in areas exposed to heavy or concentrated foot traffic.

Hair loss caused by:

  • High foot traffic

  • Friction

  • Dragging furniture

  • Pets scratching or chewing

  • Improper cleaning

  • Excess moisture

is considered normal wear and tear and is not a manufacturing defect.

For this reason, we recommend using cowhide rugs in light to moderate traffic areas, such as:

  • Living rooms

  • Bedrooms

  • Offices

  • Decorative spaces

rather than heavily trafficked hallways or entryways.

4. Rug Rotation Recommendation

To extend the life of your cowhide rug, we strongly recommend rotating the rug periodically.

Rotating the rug helps:

  • Distribute foot traffic more evenly

  • Reduce wear in concentrated areas

  • Minimize localized hair loss

Regular rotation can significantly improve the longevity and appearance of the rug.

5. Pricing and Payment

All prices listed on our website are in U.S. Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified.

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time without notice.

Accepted payment methods may include:

  • Credit cards

  • PayPal

  • Shop Pay

  • Other payment methods offered at checkout

Orders will not be processed until payment has been successfully completed.

6. Shipping

We ship orders within the United States and to select international destinations.

Processing times may vary depending on:

  • Product availability

  • Order volume

  • Custom selections

Shipping times provided at checkout are estimates and may vary due to carrier delays or unforeseen circumstances.

Luxury Cowhides is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers.

7. Returns and Exchanges

This policy is valid for cowhides, small accent hides and accessories.

If you are not completely satisfied, you may request a return according to the following conditions:

  • Return requests must be submitted within 30 days of delivery.

  • Items must be returned in unused and original condition.

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the product arrives damaged or incorrect.

The following are not eligible for return as defects:

  • Natural color variations

  • Pattern differences

  • Hair direction changes

  • Hair loss due to traffic or use

  • Normal wear and tear

Refunds are issued after the returned product has been inspected.

A restocking fee of 30% may apply for returns outside the standard return window.

Furniture Return Policy

Because our furniture pieces, including armchairs, are large items that require specialized packaging and shipping, our return policy is more restrictive than for smaller products. Please read the following policy carefully before placing your order.

Return Window

We accept return requests within 30 days of delivery.

To be eligible for a return:

  • The item must be unused and in original condition

  • The item must be returned in its original packaging

  • A Return Authorization must be requested before shipping the item back

Returns sent without prior authorization may be refused.

Size and Fit Responsibility

All furniture listings clearly display detailed product dimensions.

For this reason, size or fit issues are not considered valid reasons for return, including situations where:

  • The furniture is larger or smaller than expected

  • The item does not fit through doors, hallways, elevators, or intended spaces

We strongly recommend measuring your space carefully before placing an order.

Shipping Costs & Return Freight

Many of our furniture products include free shipping at the time of purchase. However, actual shipping and freight costs are substantial.

If a return is approved for reasons other than damage or seller error:

  • The original shipping cost will be deducted from the refund, even if the order initially qualified for free shipping.

  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

  • If we provide a return label or freight pickup, the return freight cost will be deducted from the refund.

Because furniture shipments require freight carriers, return shipping can be expensive and may vary depending on the location.

Restocking Fee

Approved returns for furniture items may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 25% of the purchase price to cover handling, inspection, and repackaging.

Items That Cannot Be Returned

The following items are non-returnable:

  • Items that have been used, assembled, or altered

  • Items returned without original packaging

  • Custom or made-to-order furniture

  • Items returned due to size expectations or space planning issues

Damaged or Defective Items

If your item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

Your claim must include:

  • Photos of the damaged item

  • Photos of the packaging

  • Photos of the shipping label

We will work quickly to provide a replacement, repair, or appropriate solution.

Failure to report damage within 48 hours may prevent us from filing a claim with the carrier.

Refused Deliveries

If a customer refuses delivery for reasons other than damage:

  • The round-trip shipping costs will be deducted from the refund.

  • A restocking fee may apply.

Refund Processing

Once the returned item is received and inspected, refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

Please allow 5–10 business days for refund processing after the item has been received and approved.

8. Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled prior to shipment. Once an order has been shipped, it must follow the standard return procedure.

Custom Order Policy

Some of our products are offered as custom or made-to-order items. These pieces are produced specifically for each customer once the order is placed.

Because custom orders require immediate coordination with our manufacturing partners and advance payments to the factory, the following policy applies.

Custom Order Confirmation

Once a custom order is placed and confirmed:

  • Production is scheduled with the factory.

  • Materials and manufacturing resources are reserved specifically for your order.

For this reason, custom orders cannot be modified or cancelled without penalties once production has been initiated.

Cancellation Policy

If a customer requests to cancel a custom order after the order has been placed, the following applies:

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit will be retained.

  • The remaining 50% of the purchase price will be refunded to the original payment method.

This policy exists because we must place the order with the factory immediately and make advance payments, which cannot be recovered once production has been scheduled.

Non-Returnable Items

All custom or made-to-order products are final sale and non-returnable.

Because these items are manufactured specifically according to the customer’s request, we cannot accept returns based on:

  • Change of mind

  • Size expectations

  • Color or pattern preference

  • Space planning issues

We encourage customers to carefully review all specifications before confirming a custom order.

Natural Material Variations

Products made with genuine cowhide and natural leather may show variations in color, pattern, texture, and hair direction. These characteristics are natural and are not considered defects.

Damaged or Defective Items

If a custom item arrives damaged or defective, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of the item and packaging. We will work with you to resolve the issue.

9. Limitation of Liability

Luxury Cowhides shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our products.

Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the product.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including images, product descriptions, logos, and branding, is the property of Luxury Cowhides and may not be reproduced or used without permission.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States and the applicable state jurisdiction where the company operates.

Cowhide Rug Care Instructions

Proper care will help maintain the beauty and longevity of your cowhide rug.

Routine Cleaning

  • Shake the rug outdoors occasionally to remove dust and debris.

  • Vacuum lightly using suction only.

  • Do not use rotating brushes or beater bars, as they can damage the hair.

Spill Cleaning

If a spill occurs:

  1. Blot immediately with a clean cloth.

  2. Use a slightly damp cloth if necessary.

  3. Allow the rug to air dry naturally.

Do not soak the rug or use excessive water.

Brushing

If the hair becomes flattened from use, you may gently brush it using a soft brush in the direction of the hair.

Moisture and Humidity

Avoid:

  • Excess moisture

  • Steam cleaning

  • Machine washing

  • Harsh chemicals

These may permanently damage the leather backing.

Sunlight Exposure

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause natural fading over time. We recommend placing rugs away from continuous direct sunlight whenever possible.

Furniture and Pressure Points

Heavy furniture placed on the rug may create pressure marks or areas of wear. Use protective pads where necessary.

Rug Rotation

To maintain even wear and extend the rug's life, rotate your cowhide rug periodically. This helps distribute traffic evenly and reduces the likelihood of hair loss in frequently used areas.
